Abstract

Law has a strong position in regulating and controlling community life. With the existence of legal protection, the order of community life will be better. Law will ensure that the regulation of life in various fields runs in harmony and safety. Islamic law also plays an important role in regulating life from an Islamic perspective. The application of Islamic law becomes interesting in the midst of Indonesia's multi-religious society. Experience shows that the application of Islamic law in Indonesia continues to make a very positive contribution to the Indonesian nation, particularly within the family. This paper will describe the application of Islamic family law. The writing method uses a literature method based on relevant book sources as writing materials. The results of the study on the application of Islamic law in Indonesia show that Islamic family law is applied in marriage, inheritance, and child adoption. Islamic law on marriage provides clear boundaries regarding the nature of marriage, the purpose of marriage, the legal status of Islamic marriage, marriage registration, and marriage certificates. Inheritance law explains that in the implementation of inheritance distribution among some Muslims, the basis of KHI is not used but rather sharia provisions. In the aspect of child adoption, Islam has encouraged Muslims to care for other people's children who are unable, poor, abandoned, and so on. However, it is not permissible to sever the relationship and rights with biological parents. The care must be based solely on compassion in accordance with the recommendation of Allah SWT. With the establishment of Islamic family law, there will be no problems within the family.
